Item 4 is hereby amended and supplemented with the following:

On October 13, 2016, Arthur L. Regan was appointed as Interim Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of Genco Shipping & Trading Limited (the Issuer). Mr. Regan has served as a Director of the Issuer since February 17, 2016 and currently serves as an Operating Partner with Apollo Investment Consulting LLC (together with Apollo Global Management, LLC and its other subsidiaries, Apollo). Since 2010, Mr. Regan has been the President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of Principal Maritime Management, LLC, a portfolio company of certain funds affiliated with Apollo. In connection with Mr. Regans appointment, Mr. Regan resigned as a member of the Issuers Audit Committee and its Compensation Committee. Mr. Regans appointment followed the resignation of Peter C. Georgiopoulos as Director and Chairman of the Issuers Board of Directors.
