Since starting his new fund, Paul Touradji enjoyed a fair degree of success, logging six consecutive years of growth, that is until 2011. Facing his flagship fund's first losing year, Paul Touradji opted to try a new strategy, dropping responsibility for the fund's daily operations and lending his attentions entirely to managing the firm's trades. "Simply put, the daily operation of the firm must go from being a major time and energy drain on me to an integral support function for our entire team, allowing us to concentrate our full attention on investment performance," said Paul Touradji.
As part of the shake up, two executives left and the firm and two new ones came on board, including Peter Borish, the former head of research at Tudor Investment Corp, who was hired on as Touradji Capital's CEO. Paul Touradji, understanding the riskiness of his move, offered investors the chance to redeem their investments.
