Solus Alternative Asset Management (Solus) is a New Jersey-based hedge fund manager founded in June 2007 by Chris Pucillo. The firm was established when the hedge fund strategies group of Stanfield Capital Partners became an independent entity under Pucillo's leadership.

Chris Pucillo, who founded Solus Alternative Asset Management in July 2007, has extensive experience in the financial sector. He began managing the hedge fund business at Stanfield Capital Partners in January 2002 after joining the firm as Head of Trading in 2000. Before Stanfield, Pucillo worked at Morgan Stanley from 1996 to 2000, where he was Head of High Yield Loan Trading and helped launch the bank’s leveraged loan effort. His credit trading career started at Bankers Trust, where he spent seven years and played a key role in creating liquidity in the leveraged loan market. Pucillo was one of the founding members of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association (LSTA). He holds a BA in Economics from Lafayette College and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
