Prior to entering the hedge fund industry, from 1992 to 1995, Robert Medway worked at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, an institutional private equity fund. Prior to business school, from 1987 to 1990, Robert Medway worked in investment and merchant banking at Wasserstein, Perella & Co. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. Robert Medway graduated with highest distinction from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1987. He also earned a Master of Business Administration Degree with distinction from Harvard Business School in 1992. Robert W. Medway is on the board of a number of non-profit institutions, including the LS&A Dean's advisory board of The University of Michigan, the finance committee of UJA-Federation of New York and the board of Trustees of Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester. Mr. Medway is married and the father of three. He and his family reside in the New York area. Yale M. Fergang, Managing Partner Yale M. Fergang is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Royal Capital. Mr. Fergang has 24 years of experience in financial services, with 19 years in investments. Prior to founding Royal Capital in 1998, Yale Fergang was a Portfolio Manager for 2 years at Siegler, Collery & Co. for the SC Fundamental Value Fund, a fundamental value oriented hedge fund investing primarily in publicly traded securities, including long/short equities and distressed debt. In addition to his investment on the public security side, he also closed four illiquid, private equity transactions. Prior to entering the hedge fund industry, from 1992 to 1996, Yale Fergang was a Vice President at The Blackstone Group. He was responsible for advising a number of Blackstone’s corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions activities. During his tenure there, Yale Fergang was integral in expanding the firm’s merger and acquisition practice in the asset management area. Earlier in his career, from 1988 to 1990, Yale Fergang was an investment banker in the mergers and acquisitions department of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Fergang graduated with honors from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Columbia College in 1987, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 1988. He majored in applied mathematics and minored in economics. Yale Fergang also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School in 1992. Mr. Fergang is married and the father of twin girls. He resides in New York City, and is on the board of a number of non-profit organizations.
