Samantha McLemore brings over two decades of market experience to her role. Having partnered closely with renowned value investor Bill Miller for more than 20 years, Samantha has navigated significant market cycles and sentiment shifts. In 2020, she launched Patient Capital Management, LLC, where she currently serves as Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager for Patient Partners LP. Under Samantha's leadership, Patient Capital Management acquired the Miller Value Partners’ Opportunity Equity strategy in 2023, encompassing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio across mutual funds and separate accounts. Samantha co-managed the Opportunity Equity strategy with Bill Miller at Miller Value Partners before assuming sole management responsibilities in 2023. Samantha began her career as an analyst at Legg Mason Capital Management and has earned recognition for her exceptional fund management skills, receiving Sauren Gold medals in 2019, 2020, and 2021. She was honored as one of Baltimore’s 40 Under 40 in 2017 and has been featured in prominent publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and Barron’s. Samantha is a sought-after speaker at conferences hosted by Columbia University, the CFA Society New York, and 100 Women in Finance. She earned her CFA designation in 2005 and graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University. Samantha is actively involved in philanthropy, serving as Chair of the Board of Improving Education, a nonprofit dedicated to early childhood literacy. She also serves on the Board for the Next Generation Investing Event, which raises funds for various educational institutions in Baltimore and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Washington & Lee University.
