In late 1982, Mr. Osterweis decided to focus full-time on portfolio management. In April 1983, he founded Osterweis Capital Management. Throughout his career, Mr. Osterweis has been actively involved in various leadership roles and philanthropic endeavors. He has served as Director of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, on the Stanford Alumni Association Executive Board, as Trustee of Bowdoin College, as Director and Vice Chairman of Mt. Zion Hospital and Medical Center, and as President of the Board of Directors for the Summer Search Foundation. Currently, he holds positions as Trustee of the San Francisco Ballet Association, Director of the San Francisco Free Clinic, President Emeritus of the San Francisco Ballet Endowment Foundation, and Trustee Emeritus of the Summer Search Foundation and Bowdoin College. Within Osterweis Capital Management, Mr. Osterweis is a member of the Management Committee, a principal of the firm, and serves as co-lead Portfolio Manager for the core equity, growth & income, and flexible balanced strategies. Mr. Osterweis earned his B.A. in Philosophy, cum laude, from Bowdoin College and graduated with top honors in Finance from Stanford Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A.
