His career in distressed debt began in 1991 when he joined R.D. Smith & Co., a pioneer in the field. Before that, Michael spent seven years as an investment banker at Salomon Brothers and Goldman Sachs, focusing on corporate finance, securitization, and mergers and acquisitions. He currently serves on the Investment Committee of the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest New Jersey. Michael graduated summa cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics and earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
