Before his tenure at HPB, Ron Gutfleish was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he led the Active Value team and served as Senior Portfolio Manager for institutional strategies including Broad Market and MidCap, as well as Growth and Income and Balanced mutual fund strategies, which he co-founded in 1993. During his time at Goldman Sachs, these strategies grew to manage $6 billion in assets. Earlier in his career, Ron Gutfleish was a partner at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., Inc., where he was the sole analyst on the Research Review Committee within the Investment Management Research Department. He began his career as an insurance analyst at Value Line. Ron Gutfleish graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in 1981 with a degree in Applied Math/Economics and completed his Ph.D. at the University of California Berkeley in 1987.
