10. Microsoft Corporation rose 1.14% after the company said it will add personalized avatars and immersive spaces to its Microsoft Teams product as an entry into the metaverse. Microsoft Corporation CEO Satya Nadella added the company is also focused on creative gaming experiences for the metaverse with the Xbox. Yacktman Asset Management was long more than 2.04 million shares of Microsoft Corporation at the end of September.

9. Alphabet Inc. increased 1.35% after Brian Nowak of Morgan Stanley upgraded the stock to $3,200 from $3,000. Nowak believes Alphabet Inc.’s scaling gross profit base could deliver outsized free cash flow. Nowak also increased his free cash flow per share estimate after Alphabet’s earnings results. Alphabet Inc. was one of the most widely held stocks among the smart money funds in our database at the end of Q2.

8. Arista Networks, Inc. surged over 20.3% today after the company reported adjusted EPS of $2.96 on revenue of $748.7 million for the third quarter, beating the average estimates of $2.73 and $737.94 million. The company sees Q4 sales of $775-$795 million versus the consensus of $754.06 million. Steve Cohen’s Point72 Asset Management owned 282,000 shares of Arista Networks, Inc. at the end of June.

7. IPG Photonics Corporation rose 8.62% after the company reported EPS of $1.4 for the third quarter, versus the consensus of $1.27. Sales were $379.2 million, versus the average estimate of $368.26 million. For Q4, IPG Photonics Corporation sees EPS of $1 to $1.3 versus the consensus of $1.3. Royce & Associates owned 179,443 shares of IPG Photonics Corporation at the end of Q2.

6. Zebra Technologies Corporation surged by 7.92% after the company reported adjusted Q3 EPS of $4.55, or $0.5 per share ahead of the consensus. Sales for the period rose 27.4% year over year to $1.44 billion. For Q4, Zebra Technologies Corporation sees adjusted EPS of $4.20-$4.50, versus the consensus of $4.17. AQR Capital Management was among the elite fund holders of Zebra Technologies Corporation at the end of June.

Like Microsoft Corporation, Alphabet Inc., Arista Networks, Inc., IPG Photonics Corporation, and Zebra Technologies Corporation, Franklin Resources, Inc. and Rockwell Automation, Inc. moved on Tuesday.

5. Franklin Resources, Inc. rose 7.2% after the company reported preliminary fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $1.26 versus the consensus of $0.86. Franklin Resources, Inc. also reported preliminary revenue of $2.18 billion versus the average estimate of $2.02 billion. After the report, Robert Lee of Keefe Bruyette upgraded the stock to ‘Outperform’ from ‘Market Perform’ and set a $45 price target, up from the previous $35. Ken Griffin’s Citadel Investment Group was long 1,080,401 shares of Franklin Resources, Inc. at the end of June.


4. Rockwell Automation, Inc. rose 7.35% after the company reported adjusted earnings of $2.33 per share for the fourth quarter, beating the consensus by $0.15 per share. Sales were $1.81 billion, up 15.3% year over year but missing the average estimate by $90 million. For FY22, the company sees EPS of $10.50 to $11.10, versus the consensus of $10.24. Fisher Asset Management was among the elite fund holders of Rockwell Automation, Inc. at the end of September.


3. Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. (NYSE:MLM) surged 4.41% after the company reported third quarter results. For the period, MLM reported an adjusted EPS of $4.25, missing the consensus by $0.01 per share. Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. sales were $1.55 billion, up 17.4% year over year, and $60 million ahead of estimates. Select Equity Group was long over 3.09 million shares of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. at the end of June.


2. Ralph Lauren Corporation (NYSE:RL) fell 9.7% today despite beating estimates for its fiscal second quarter. For the period, Ralph Lauren Corporation earned an adjusted EPS of $2.62, or $0.62 ahead of the consensus. FQ2 revenue was $1.5 billion, up 26.1% year over year and $30 million ahead of estimates. Despite today’s decline, shares of Ralph Lauren Corporation are up over 15% year to date. Millennium Management was long 674,683 shares of Ralph Lauren Corporation at the end of Q2.


1. Global Payments Inc. (NYSE:GPN) fell 9.2% today after reporting third quarter results. For the period, Global Payments Inc. earned an adjusted $2.18 per share, beating estimates by $0.03 per share. Revenue was $2.2 billion, exceeding the consensus by $210 million. In terms of outlook, Global Payments Inc. sees FY21 adjusted EPS of $8.10-$8.20.
