All three major indexes are in the red today, with the S&P 500 down 1.10%, the Dow Jones down 1.2%, and the NASDAQ 100 down 0.59%. Some stocks on the move today include Etsy Inc (NASDAQ:ETSY), Philip Morris International Inc. (NYSE:PM), and United Airlines Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:UAL).

10. Tesla, Inc. (NASAQ:TSLA) has surged over 5.9% today following the company’s strong fourth-quarter earnings and deliveries. The company beat the analysts’ EPS estimate of $2.38 by 16 cents for Q4 2021. Jairam Nathan at Daiwa Securities upgraded Tesla, Inc. (NASAQ:TSLA) to Outperform, sharing that increased oil prices, which result in higher gas prices, will benefit electric car manufacturers at the margin. Of the 924 hedge funds being tracked by Insider Monkey, 91 elite funds reported owning a stake in Tesla, Inc. (NASAQ:TSLA) at the end of Q4 2021.

9. Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:C) slumped 4% today after the firm revealed in its yearly report to the Securities and Exchange Commission that it has $5.4 billion in “Russia credit and other exposures” as of 2021. This is lower than the $5.5 billion reported at the end of Q3, but it is still higher than year-end 2020 levels. Citigroup Inc. also acknowledged that any “sanctions and export controls” by Russia may have a negative impact on Citi’s business activities and clients in and out of Russia and Ukraine. Citigroup Inc. is working on mitigating its risks. Harris Associates owned over 28 million shares in Citigroup Inc. at the end of Q4.

8. L3Harris Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:LHX) has risen over 6.6% following reports that Germany is likely to increase its military spending amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The Aerospace-Defense stock received an upgrade in its Relative-Strength rating from 80 to 87. At the end of Q4 2021, 40 hedge funds owned a stake in L3Harris Technologies, Inc., worth over $1.1 billion.

7. Viatris Inc. (NASDAQ:VTRS) recorded a sharp decline of over 21.94% following worse-than-expected Q4 results. The company missed the analysts’ EPS estimate of $0.75 for Q4 by 97 cents and shared lower than expected FY22 sales guidance. Viatris Inc. also sold its Biosimilars assets for $3 billion to Biocon Biologics. The segment was one of the primary growth drivers for the company

6. APA Corporation (NASDAQ:APA) rallied 5.41% to $35.51 on Monday following the company’s recent offshore oil and gas discovery in Krabdagu.  Analysts remain bullish on APA Corporation as the US energy policies favor incumbent corporations by creating entry barriers. In the next months, geopolitical conflicts threaten to drive prices even higher. Overall, 42 hedge funds reported owning a stake in APA Corporation at the end of Q4 2021, up from 33 in the preceding quarter.

Like APA Corporation, Etsy Inc, Philip Morris International Inc., and United Airlines Holdings, Inc. are also on the move.

5. United Airlines Holdings, Inc. is down 4% today following Russia’s ban on airlines from 36 countries from using its airspace. Cruise and airline operators can be seen retreating in the market amidst the political turmoil. Accompanied by rising oil prices, the company is likely to see a considerable hike in its fuel costs that normally account for 20-30% of the airline’s total costs. United Airlines Holdings, Inc. reported a loss per share of $1.60 for the fourth quarter. PAR Capital Management owned over 3 million shares of United Airlines Holdings, Inc. at the end of Q4 2021.

4. Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT) has risen 4.84% following the planning approval of Shetland Spaceport. The UK government has funded Lockheed Martin Corporation to organize launches in Britain. The company is building a ‘shepherding vehicle’ to transport satellites to various locations in orbit. The rise in stock price is also driven by Ukraine’s invasion. Analysts at Jefferies stated that defense stocks are on “top of mind for all European investors.” Out of the 924 hedge funds in Insider Monkey’s database, 42 reported owning shares in Lockheed Martin Corporation at the end of Q4 2021.


3. Western Digital Corporation (NASDAQ:WDC)
is down 3.6% today. The stock is in a downtrend after the company shared that certain materials at its manufacturing facility in Japan have been contaminated. According to Western Digital Corporation’s assessment, the contamination would result in a shortage of 5 exabytes in flash storage availability. The company is working with Kioxia to restore its operations on an urgent basis.

2. Philip Morris International Inc. is down 3.5% today despite its fourth-quarter EPS of $1.35, beating the analysts’ estimate by 2 cents. The stock is possibly down following the suspension of operations in Ukraine. Philip Morris International Inc. employs 1300 people in Ukraine, representing 1.9% of the company’s overall workforce as of December 31.  Approximately 2% of the company’s total revenue is generated from Ukraine. Terry Smith’s Fundsmith LLP was long over 20 million shares of Philip Morris International Inc. as of Q4 2021.

1. Etsy Inc has surged 4.9% following the company’s strong Q4 results. The company posted an EPS of $1.11, beating the analysts’ estimate by 34 cents. Etsy Inc reported a growth of 17.6% in its active buyer base from the prior-year quarter. As of Q4, the company’s active seller base was recorded at 7.5 million, an increase of 72.3% YOY. Moreover, Ygal Arounian of Wedbush reiterated an Outperform rating on the stock with a price target of $185.  Of the 924 hedge funds tracked by Insider Monkey at the end of Q4, 47 elite funds reported owning a stake in Etsy Inc.
