Why Google Inc (GOOG) Cannot Compete With The Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPad

Is it possible for the next generation Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus 7 tablet to compete head to head with the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad? While some people would answer yes, others don’t feel the search engine giant, led by Larry Page, has what it takes to make up any ground in this market.

One Reason why Google Inc (GOOG) cannot Compete with the Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPadBefore we get into the finer details of this piece, let’s keep in mind that the iPad is and has been the top tablet in the market for quite some time. Tim Cook and Jony Ive know what they are doing when it comes to designing and marketing this tablet, and this is not going to change anytime soon.

Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is Dooming Itself

The Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad does everything well. This is why it has been able to move to the top of the market and hold its spot for a long time.

If a competitor is going to come along and take out the iPad, it will need to be nearly flawless. Unfortunately for Google, it does not appear that its next generation Nexus 7 fits the bill.

According to a story by Mark Langshaw of Digital Spy, Google is checking into reports of multitouch errors with its newest tablet. While this could happen to any company, it is not good for one that is trying to make a positive impact while stealing market share from the competition.

Users on the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Product Forums are complaining that their device’s touchscreen has been crashing and “registering phantom inputs.”

Going one step further, Google is not trying to hide this problem. Instead, it issued a response:

“The Android team is aware of this issue and is investigating.”

Not exactly earth shattering, but at least the company knows what is going on and is doing its best to address the concern.

Last month, the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus 7 was introduced in North America. With a seven inch display, it is a competitor to the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad mini.

The device s set to hit UK markets at the end of August.

From Robert Karr to Sandy Nairn to Daniel Benton, there are many hedge fund managers liking what they see from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG). Of course, this is not the type of news anybody likes to read.

Will the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad continue to dominate or could the Nexus 7 step in and take back some market share?
