Rumor surround Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next iPhone are flowing in ahead of the tech giant’s imminent announcement of its new flagship smartphone. A tweet from a Fox News reporter claims that new Apple silicon rumored to land in the iPhone 5S is “very fast,” while an Apple-centric blog says it will be 64-bit — echoing a previous rumor. Clayton Morris tweeted Sunday that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s next-generation A7 chip “is running at about 31 [percent] faster than A6. I’m hearing it’s very fast.” The iPhone 5 and iPad 4 are currently powered by an A6 chip.
Google Reels In Its Latest Internet-TV Device (Businessweek)
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has been eager to get into television for a while now. First there was Google TV, which fell flat after content owners blocked it and consumers complained about the quality. Then there was Q, a glowing orb intended to stream media; it died before it ever had a chance. Now there is Chromecast, and there’s no way Google (GOOG) will let independent developers screw this one up. Over the weekend, Koushik Dutta, an Android developer, complained that Google had intentionally blocked an application he had created that would allow people to stream to Chromecast directly from their phones. This would allow people to watch whatever content they had on their mobile devices—a logical service, it seems, but a step too far for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), apparently.
White Xbox One exclusive for Microsoft employees (Shacknews)
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) employees will receive a special version of the console that’s “unique” for the team. The white console has “I MADE THIS” emblazoned by the disc drive, and will include one year of Live Gold and every first-party launch game. First discovered by All Games Beta, employees must have worked with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) as of July and must still be work there come launch time. Sorry Don Mattrick, guess you’re not getting one–although you did certainly help make the system.

Google Palestine Hacked And Defaced Through A Domain Registry Attack (TechCrunch)
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s primary search domain for Palestine has seemingly been hacked, with the standard Google search interface for the region being replaced by a political message from its hackers. From the information available so far, it doesn’t appear that Google’s own servers were hacked — instead, it seems that Google’s Palestinian domain was hijacked and redirected to another server altogether. How that was done, exactly, is unclear. One current theory is that Google’s top-level domain provider for the region was compromised, allowing hackers to point the domain somewhere else.
Microsoft will open permanent store at West Edmonton Mall in October (Edmonton Journal)
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is opening its second permanent retail store in Canada at West Edmonton Mall in time for the holiday shopping season, the technology giant confirmed in a tweet on Monday. The store will open Oct. 26. Canada’s only other Microsoft Store opened in November 2012 at Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto. It opened with a concert by Train and the chance to play video games with Wayne Gretzky. No details of Edmonton’s Microsoft Store opening have been released.
Apple throttles iWork for iCloud access for new users (Macworld)
If you haven’t already tried out iWork for iCloud, you may have to wait a while. As first reported by 9to5Mac, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s temporarily disabled access to the online suite for new users, due to “an overwhelming response.” However, if you have already used them, your access to the Web-based versions of Pages, Numbers, and Keynote will continue unimpeded. Apple invites other users to check back soon for access, and reminds them that they can continue to store their documents in iCloud for the time being, even if they can’t edit them. Macworld has reached out to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) for comment.
It’s war! Siri mocks Google Glass (CNET)
It’s quite clear that within a year we’ll all be walking down the street, talking to pieces of machinery, rather than people. When Siri emerged, the excitement humans felt at being able to talk to their phones was palpable. But along came a rival, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Glass — albeit, a rival with less style. Prompted by @seanmbrage, the Verge began investigating reports that Siri was trash-talking Glass. It seems that when the command “OK Glass” was whispered to Siri, she retorted with various sniffy remarks.
Microsoft’s ‘Scroogled’ Campaign Continues with Bing Ad [VIDEO] (Shalom Life)
It seems Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was mentioned on every popular news source today, but here’s a story that doesn’t involve CEO Steve Ballmer’s forthcoming retirement, that comes via Techcrunch. Continuing with their infamous, and morally questionable ‘Scroogled’ campaign, Microsoft’s latest Bing ad may be the lowest of the low. The short ad features a student telling two parents, though presumably not her own, of what she learned at school in an elevator, much of which, she says, had little to do with education and more to do with advertisements.
