“Cancer is caused by mistakes in DNA, and a new study finds that in most cancer cases, these mistakes are completely random; they’re not due to heredity or environmental factors, but rather the result of random errors. Scientists had thought these mutations resulted mainly from two things: Either the mutation was inherited, or it was caused by outside factors that can damage DNA, such as cigarette smoke or ultraviolet radiation, the researchers wrote. But a third cause — random mistakes — actually accounts for two-thirds of these mutations, said the new study, published today (March 23) in the journal Science.”

“Apple is investing into the Indian ecosystem by opening its first App Accelerator in Bengaluru. The company announced plans to open this program back in May 2016. Developers who sign up will get support from Apple’s team in India. Apple engineers will provide feedback, best practices and tools. There will also be presentations. Once you’re selected into the program, it looks like you’ll get a weekly one-on-one meeting with Apple to talk about your app. By doing this, the company hopes that there will be even more useful apps coming out of India.”

Xbox One Games with Gold subscribers only have one day to pick up some of March’s free games. With the Xbox Games with Gold April 2017 releases about to go live, Xbox One and Xbox 360 users have until midnight tonight to pick up Layers of Fear and Heavy Weapon. These particular games will be replaced by Ryse Son of Rome on Xbox One and Darksiders on Xbox 360. Fortunately, however, Backwards Compatibility makes it possible to play both games on Xbox One. Subscribers also have a few more days to download Evolve Ultimate Edition, which leaves the service at midnight on April 15. This will be replaced by Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2 on April 16, which is the same day that Assassin’s Creed Revelations joins the party.”
