SEAT is an online ticket marketplace in the United States, Canada, and Japan. The company operates in two segments, namely Marketplace and Resale. Marketplace is a platform for buying and selling tickets. The Resale segment acquires tickets to resell on secondary ticket marketplaces.

The market is projected to grow at 6% with the revenue growth for SEAT estimated at 15%, primarily driven by higher consumer demand for live concerts and sports. The flexibility that the secondary market offers makes the Resale segment attractive for buyers who prefer last-minute decision-making. The overall Resale market is set to grow at 9.5% and SEAT is certainly looking to tap into this opportunity. It has already made plans to expand internationally and this move could increase the revenue by 2-5%. The Skybox platform which offers a complete interface for sellers to manage ticket sales has already captured the 55% market share of professional resellers (resellers command 80% of the total resale market). Its partnership with AEG to manage the distribution of college basketball crown tournament tickets will certainly present cross-selling opportunities.

The scale of SEAT’s operations positions itself in a dominant position in a competitive market with many small players. While these smaller players remain unprofitable due to their size, SEAT can benefit from economies of scale.

SEAT has a valuation that makes it underpriced in the market. Not only does it over double-digit Free Cash Flow yield due to its asset-light model, but also offers an EBITDA multiple of 6.4x based on 2024 values and 4.4x based on 2026 figures. Comparing it with Stub Hub which was bought for 20x EBITDA in 2020, the potential for a higher pricing cannot be ruled out.
