Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) helps many people share their views to the world and it even helps the celebrities connect to their numerous fans around the world. With the recent addition of audio cards, some music artists can even release their work to million fans through tweets. But can you earn half a million dollars a year just by tweeting? Yes you can says 23 year old founder of Uberfacts, Kris Sanchez. Sanchez talked from Los Angeles on Fox Business about Uberfacts.
Sanchez’s Uberfacts has more than 7 million followers and reports suggest that his tweets earn him around $500,000 in a year. How can a person earn just by tweeting and how can Sanchez’s tweet engage his 7 million followers? Sanchez said that day in and day out he tries to find interesting stories around the world. He feels that the stories that engage him might definitely engage most of his Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) followers as well. If someone shares multiple factual tweets in a day and engages many people, the authenticity of those tweets is critical to retain the people who follow the tweets. Sanchez feels that he has a great team to ensure the authenticity of the shared facts.
“Well I have a great trust in the staff that I have finding them (facts) and I also cross reference the facts that they find. So I make sure that there is other information on the internet about what I am tweeting,” Sanchez said.
He mentioned that his favorite tweet was the one about ‘mad as a hatter’. He explained that the hat makers in 19th century turned crazy due to the mercury poisoning, which was used for making hats. Tweeting via Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) platform and engaging many users is cool, but how can that generate revenues?
“All the monetization is in web traffic. So I have a great partner called Social Reactor and they are an ad network. They provide me with galleries that are relevant to my followers. They find it interesting and in exchange for that content I bring them web traffic. If you go down the twitter feed, you will see tweets and the feed that have links and pictures to galleries,” Sanchez said.
He accepted that the detractors to his tweets are always there and he mentioned that he handle those detractors, who are not supposedly trolling around, by sending them supporting links through his personal account. Sanchez shares 60-70 tweets on an average in a day, which is huge.
