In this piece, we will take a look at the top five supersonic travel companies in the world. For more supersonic companies, head on over to Top Supersonic Travel Companies in the World.
5. Boom Technology, Inc.
Boom Technology, Inc. is an American firm that was headquartered in Denver Colorado. The company was set up in 2014 and it is one of the more popular names in the supersonic concept travel industry, with its Boom Overture jet often being the talk of the town. The jet has a top speed of Mach 1.7 and a range of almost five thousand miles. Boom Technology is also quite far ahead in its design process, as it plans to conduct a test flight of a mid sized Overture, called the XB-1 Baby Boom jet, powered by, surprise surprise, General Electric’s engine, in mid 2023.
4. Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT)
Any discussion about supersonic jets would really be incomplete without Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT), America’s only company that makes a fighter jet capable of traveling supersonically without afterburning jet engines. On the civilian side, Lockheed has partnered up with NASA to develop the X-59 jet for demonstrating low sound supersonic flight, with a test expected later this year.
As of Q4 2022, 53 of the 943 hedge funds polled by Insider Monkey had held a stake in Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE:LMT). The firm’s largest investor is Rajiv Jain’s GQG Partners which owns 1.1 million shares that are worth $559 million.

2. Blue Origin LLC
Blue Origin LLC is an American aerospace firm that is one of the older ones on our list apart from Lockheed, Grumman, and General Electric. Its New Shepard rocket travels faster than the speed of sound when taking travelers to the Karman Line.
1. Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX)
Topping the list is none other than SpaceX, the firm that has stunned the world by making its rockets land vertically and autonomously. SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket regularly flies public and private astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), during which it travels faster than the speed of sound. The same is true for the Crew Dragon spacecraft during its return to Earth, and as if this weren’t enough, SpaceX’s Starship rocket is aiming to be the world’s first rocket to conduct point to point flights on Earth.
