The sale of new cars is on the rise all throughout the US. Given the slight economic increase of 2013, more people could afford a new model, which translates into the fact that the majority of automobile manufacturers have increased their sales in the year that has just passed.
Following, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the top 20 cars of 2013, based on the total number of units sold throughout the past year. The cars were ranked using the statistics released by Car Examiner earlier this year.
Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) maintains its supremacy, as it has done for the better part of the last decade. Its line of pickup trucks, the Ford F Series managed to grab the title of bestselling car in the US, with a total of 763,402 units sold in 2013, over 100,000 units more than in 2012. The Ford F Series is so far ahead of its competition, that it managed to sell almost double the number of units our runner-up, the Chevrolet Silverado, did. Ford scored an additional 4 spots in our countdown, with the Ford Focus, Ford Explorer, Ford Fusion, and Ford Escape models, making it the bestselling automobile manufacturer in the US. Once again, the runner up was Chevrolet, with three other models in the top 20: the Chevrolet Malibu, the Chevrolet Equinox, and the Chevrolet Cruze.
Curious to see which other car models have made it on the list? Let’s take a look at the countdown.
