This might come as a surprise due to the history of relations between the U.S. and Iraq, but their mutual goal is secure and stable Iraq. 38% of U.S. foreign aid is provided for peace and security in the region. Interestingly, data published by The Washington Post also shows that Iraq is among top 10 countries when it comes to U.S. arms sales ($1.8 billion).
