2. Furious 7

The second most searched for movie on Google this year was Furious 7, from the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie is full of action scenes that defy the laws of physics, which is pretty much the norm for this franchise. While the films in this series are always a hit, it seems like this year there was even more hype, even though I’m sure they would have preferred it came from other sources rather than the tragic death of one of the main actors — Paul Walker — whose absence was addressed in the movie.

Featuring Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michele Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and The Rock, to name a few, Furious 7 brought in $353 million in the US box office and an extra $1.1 billion in foreign countries. This also put it on the list of the highest grossing movies of 2015, ranking second on that list.
