Wonder what the tallest buildings in the world are? Skyscrapers seem to be popping up like mushrooms these days. Tall buildings are indeed an appanage of modern society and most medium to large-sized cities in the world boast a few impressive skyscrapers. Apart from making an architectural statement, skyscrapers provide the advantage that they take space in height, rather than in width, which is something particularly useful in today’s crowded communities.
The skyscrapers were ranked according to the highest point of the building and the data was collected from the figures released by the Emporis Standards Committee. Only buildings with a completed construction or that have been topped out (the moment in which the highest point of the building has been constructed) were included in the top twenty.
Let’s take a look at the countdown.
