4. AIDS is a Man-made Disease
The conspiracy theorists claim that the deadly HIV virus was created by the CIA to wipe out homosexuals and African-Americans. Some believe that AIDS is a biological weapon that was created to control the population of lower-class citizens in the United States. In another claim, some state that AIDS was accidentally created by a scientist who was working on a polio vaccine using chimpanzee kidney cultures that were infected with SIV (simian immunodeficiency virus) and as a result, a mutant variant of the disease, AIDS, was created. Though scientific consensus has rejected all these conspiracy theories, the true origin of the disease remains a mystery.
