2. The U.S. Government Was Involved in 9/11
This has been the most researched conspiracy theory on the internet since September 11, 2001, and is likely another theory that will never be put to rest. Though the Al-Qaeda terrorists are allegedly responsible for the 9/11 attacks, many believe that the Bush administration knew of the upcoming attack and did nothing. Another belief is that some members of the U.S. government coordinated the attacks, using destructive materials, remote-control planes, and missile strikes. While there are different beliefs about how the attacks were carried out, the majority of conspiracy theorists agree that the attacks were used to fuel hatred and to justify the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
