Want to know which is most expensive underwear in the world? Earlier this month, Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio were the lucky Angels chosen to model the $2 million Dream Angels Fantasy Bras at the yearly Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. This collection, which started in 1996, includes some of the most expensive pieces of underwear in the world. Naturally, female underwear and lingerie is much costlier than men’s underwear; and this resonates at the highest level too. Unluckily enough for you girls, we won’t be seeing any golden boxers on our list, but rather some racy pieces of luxurious lingerie.
Underwear belongs to the most secret aspect of our lives, and although we are constantly bombarded by lingerie advertising, some people still prefer to keep those things in private. If you are one of those private people, you will probably enjoy our list on The 8 Most Secluded Homes In The World, where you could likely walk around inside and outside of your property in nothing but your lingerie, with nary an eye to spy upon you (and your underwear).
Are you curious about the most expensive underwear in the world? Let’s take a look at the countdown.
10. Uwe Koetter Chastity Belt
Made out of gold, pearls, and diamonds, this 2002 creation of South African jeweler Uwe Koetter costs $20,000. Chastity belts may sound a little bit dated in the 21st century, but however controversial such an item is, the belt was specially ordered by a private British client.
We can’t promise no more chastity belts on our ranking of the most expensive underwear in the world, but we can promise many more pieces of tantalizing and exotic undergarments. Keep reading to see what we mean.
9. Gold Lingerie
What woman wouldn’t love to wear a $26,000 piece of gold lingerie? This piece was originally showcased at an exhibit in Shenyang City, China in 2007, but surprisingly (or not) never sold. Naturally most of us cannot afford such a special piece of underwear, but we sure dream about wearing it.
8. Anamika Khanna ORRA Diamond Bustier
Designed by the renowned Indian designer Anamika Khanna in 2010, this $1.3 million bustier stubbed with ORRA diamonds is an exquisite and costly piece of underwear. The bustier was hand-crafted by a team of craftsmen who devoted six months to make the design come to life.
7. Hearts on Fire Diamond Fantasy Bra
With this 2006 Victoria’s Secret creation we enter the company’s legendary “Fantasy Bra” collection, a group of bejeweled bras that are typically showcased at the yearly fashion show. This particular creation garnered a $6.5 million value and was modeled by Karolina Kurkova.
6. Millennium Bra
We chose the Millennium Bra that Heidi Klum wore in 1999 to represent every $10 million creation that the Victoria’s Secret has ever made, including the 2002 Star of Victoria, the Heavenly “70” Tyra Banks rocked in 2004, and last year’s Royal Bra.
5. Very Sexy Fantasy Bra
No one does over-the-top and costly underwear like Victoria’s Secret, and the 2003 Very Sexy Fantasy Bra that was modeled by Heidi Klum is just another example. The piece was worth $11 million and had a 70-carat diamond embedded in the center.
4. Heavenly Star Fantasy Bra
In 2001 the German supermodel Heidi Klum became the first Victoria’s Secret Angel to wear a Fantasy Bra at the yearly fashion show. The stunning bra was valued at $12.5 million, for it was made of 1,200 pink sapphires and a 90-carat diamond.
3. Sexy Splendor Fantasy Bra
Also worth $12.5 million and another Victoria’s Secret design, the Sexy Splendor was worn by Gisele Bündchen in 2005. The piece was made out of diamonds, rubies and white gold.
2. Red Hot Fantasy Bra and Panties
At the turn of the century, Victoria’s Secret decided to celebrate big with a $15 million ensemble of bra and panties made of red satin and 3,000 gemstones. The extravagant pair was modeled by the Brazilian bombshell Gisele Bündchen just a year before the tradition of showcasing the Fantasy Bras at the Fashion Show was instituted.
1. Susan Rosen Diamond Bikini
The most expensive underwear in the world is Susan Rosen’s Diamond Bikini. But as you actually wouldn’t wear such an exquisite and luxurious item to the beach, we think of it more as underwear than swimwear. Worth $30 million, it was specially designed for the 2006 Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue.
