One of the most famous conspiracy theories is that cameras and microphones have been introduced into televisions for the government to conduct studies and evaluate how people behave. Moreover, it has been said that through subliminal advertising, big companies and governments can, in fact, control our minds. According to some scientists and researchers, when a subliminal message is embedded into images or sound, it can penetrate into our subconscious and influence our behavior.
No. 9 Vaccination and autism
Many believe that vaccines can actually cause autism when injected into children. Celebrity Jenny McCarthy fought this fight along with Robert Kennedy Jr., stating that vaccination is part of a conspiracy among scientists and government epidemiologists to hide the truth about the ingredients in vaccine shots. McCarthy, the mother of an autistic son, said: “we vaccinated our baby and something happened.”

Roswell N.M. gave birth not only to a great conspiracy theory, but also to countless sci-fi movies and TV shows. The event took place during July, 1947, when the Roswell Army Air Field stated that they had recovered a crashed “flying disc” from a ranch nearby. The military stated in a press conference that the object found was in fact a weather balloon, and produced debris from the balloon. Yet this explanation left many unsatisfied, including nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman. It wasn’t until 1995 that the military agency filed a report announcing that the weather balloon recovered was actually a high-altitude balloon that was intended to detect bomb waves from atomic bomb and ballistic missile tests. Despite the numerous attempts to turn the page on this event, many UFO proponents hold that the whole Roswell event was a governmental cover-up.

The assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, is yet one of the most intriguing events of recent history. The president was riding in a motorcade in Dallas, Texas, when he was shot and killed. An hour later, Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested for Kennedy’s murder. Some days later, Oswald was shot and killed by Jack Ruby. The incidents are likely connected, and many think that Oswald wasn’t actually responsible for Kennedy’s murder, deducing that a secret organization was behind the whole operation.

Many people state that the moon landing the world watched unfold live on July 20, 1969, was actually a set-up orchestrated by NASA. According to theorists, the surface Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked upon was a stage, alleging it was impossible to produce a live transmission as such, with the technology of the time. Among the ultimate conspiracy theories, there is the one which involves the terrorist attack which took place in New York, during September of 2001, when two commercial passenger planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. The incidents caused nearly 3,000 deaths. Conspiracy theorists think the attacks were orchestrated by the U.S. government, although Al-Qaeda terrorists claimed responsibility for the attacks. The most extreme theory states that select members of the government organized the attacks conducting the planes using remote-controls and demolition materials to make the towers fall. There’s even a theory that there were actually no planes at all (they were added into live news feeds and videos by an army of graphics designers), and the towers were actually brought down by explosives or missiles.

This theory has been around for quite some time. The picture taken of the planet from the Viking Orbiter in 1976 led many to think there was actually life on Mars. These photos apparently show an enormous face staring up from the surface. Furthermore, the pictures also include a sphinx and a 5-sided pyramid, which has made many think that the pyramids in Egypt were built by Martians. More recently, a photo taken by the Mars Rover appears to show a human-like skull partially submerged in the planet’s sands.
