Ever wonder what the best videogame weapons of all-time are? While many of us enjoy video games, developers like Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) or Ubisoft make sure to create a variety of games that will satisfy every user. We are currently in a period of entering a new era in the video gaming industry, which is marked by the appearance of the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. At the E3 Summit, videogame developers have already released some of the projects that will be placed on shelves soon, which will inherently bring the gaming experience to the proverbial next level.
Due to the fact that both PS4 and Xbox One consoles have a more powerful hardware, the so-called next gen games will have: (1) better quality graphics and (2) more features that will bring gamers closer to the feeling that the virtual world is the world they inhabit.
Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA) and other developers have presented a whole range of games: sport, racing, first-player shooters, role-playing games and more. However, one of the best experiences of playing is offered by first-player shooters and role-playing games since the player will have to control one character in the game. Masterpieces like Tom Clancy’s The Division, Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:EA)’s Battlefield 4, or Call of Duty Ghosts are three games from these genres that will be released for the new consoles.
One of the greatest feature of FPS and RPGs is a whole range of weaponry and accessories, which can be used to kill enemies and complete missions. Weapons in video games can be modeled off of existing guns, or they can be part of a futuristic arsenal, prototypes or even related to magic.
So what are we waiting for?

Hint: This scene may just be in the list.
Let’s take a look at the 10 best videogame weapons of all-time:
10. Super Mario Bros: Fireball
Maybe it’s not the best weapon, but Super Mario has been one of the most popular games in the past, and partially as a tribute to it, we should include the Fireball in our list.
9. Metal Gear Solid: Mk. II
The Mk. II is not exactly a weapon; it was designed as a device that can assist and support personnel on the battlefield. However it has the possibility to stun enemies by using an electric charge. Also, it is very fun to use.
8. Half-Life: Crowbar
A crowbar is a tool that is used many times in many games. Even though it does not bring much damage in comparison with guns, it should not be underestimated. It requires no ammunition and in Half-Life, it is always with you as you cannot lose it. There is even a saying in Russian that goes something like: “Nothing can beat a crowbar.”
7. Star Wars: Lightsaber
The Lightsaber is an immensely powerful weapon not only in the popular “Star Wars” movies, but in the entire Star Wars Universe. It is one of the most desired weapons by all kids (and maybe even some adults, who knows). A solid seventh place.
6. Half-Life: Gravity Gun
Clear from the name, the gravity gun is a weapon that can beat the laws of physics. Even though it is a tool for lifting and moving heavy objects, the player can use it to transform barrels, and other objects into heavy ammunition and use it to kill enemies.
5. Halo 2: Energy Sword
A FPS game should not only involve shooting, and the energy sword introduced in Halo 2 can confirm it.
4. God of War: Blades of Chaos
These chained blades were created by the God of War, Ares, and given to the main character of the game, Kratos. This weapon really made the game more brutal.
3. Fallout: Fat Man
Despite the fact that the name doesn’t sound very harmful, it is actually a very dangerous piece of weaponry. It is basically a hand-held nuclear bomb, you just have to aim, pull the trigger and admire the mushroom cloud.
2. Saints Row 4: Dubstep Gun
Personally, I don’t like Dubstep music (if we can call it music), and it seems like the developers of Saints Row 4 share the same vision as they have made it into a gruesome weapon for their upcoming title.
1. Doom: The BFG
The BFG stand for Big F****ng Gun, and the name says it all. It’s a really cool gun, and one shot is more than enough to blast the enemies in front of you.
