1. Mario
Making his first appearance in 1981 as part of the original Donkey Kong game, Mario went on to star in the famous Mario Bros. and Super Mario Bros. series for Nintendo. The character created by Shigeru Miyamoto is currently the official Nintendo mascot, and continues to appear in a wide array of video games, as well as in animated series, films and comic books.
