Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) lost its bid in a lawsuit to add Samsung Electronics (005930) Co.’s Galaxy S4 smartphone to a list of products it alleges to infringe its patents. The decision yesterday by U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul S. Grewal is part of a second patent case in San Jose, California, between the companies covering technology in newer smartphones, including Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iPhone 5 and Samsung’s Galaxy S III.

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s new TV adverts are a flop, according to a TV ad effectiveness consulting firm. Apple’s new TV ads focus on the company’s corporate policy and push patriotic credentials by reminding us that its products are designed in the US. Ace Metrix Inc, a firm that analyses the effectiveness of TV ads by carrying out surveys of at least 500 TV viewers, found that, when Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s latest ads were put to the test, they scored below the industry average. The TV ad, which was first aired following Apple’s WWDC 2013 keynote on 10 June, scored the lowest out of 26 Apple TV ads in the past year in Ace Metrix’s survey.

Research analysts at Susquehanna decreased their price objective on shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) from $480.00 to $440.00 in a report released on Thursday, StockRatingsNetwork.com reports. Susquehanna’s target price would suggest a potential upside of 10.53% from the stock’s previous close. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) opened at 398.07 on Thursday. Apple has a 52-week low of $385.10 and a 52-week high of $705.07. The stock’s 50-day moving average is currently $431.. The company has a market cap of $373.6 billion and a price-to-earnings ratio of 9.50.

Its not a huge surprise but its still an interesting statistic. SellCell, a used cellphone buyer, has done a survey of the different mobile device users and how they act on securing their devices. They found that Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) users are the most likely to know how to wipe their phone though 17% recycled their phone without wiping it. Here are some of the findings: Over half of respondents (60 percent) would not know how to wipe data off their phone before selling or recycling it; …One in seven have sold a phone without removing their data beforehand;
