Apple Looks to British Architect Norman Foster to Redesign Retail Stores (IBTimes UK)
The iPhone maker has previously used 8 Inc for the design of its stores, including the iconic glass cube on New York’s 5th Avenue and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Regent Street shop in London, but is now working with Foster+Partners, which is also responsible for the enormous ‘spaceship’ Campus 2 headquarters Apple is planning in California. Foster+Partners has previously designed the McLaren Technology Centre in Surrey as well as Wembley Stadium. The news that it is to work on future Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stores comes from UK publication Marketing Magazine.

The firm currently has a $35.00 price target on the company’s shares. A number of other analysts have also recently weighed in on MSFT. Analysts at BGC Financial downgraded shares of Microsoft Corp from a “buy” rating to a “hold” rating in a research note to investors on Wednesday. They now have a $31.00 price target on the stock, up previously from $30.21. Separately, analysts at Janney Montgomery Scott reiterated a “neutral” rating on shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) in a research note to investors on Wednesday. They now have a $28.00 price target on the stock.

Waterloo, Ont. company Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) announced yesterday that its Q10, a more “traditional” BlackBerry device with a smaller screen and physical keyboard, will be released in its native Canada on April 30. This release date will take place exactly three months after the official BlackBerry 10 launch event, and close to three months after the all-touch Z10 was released initially in Canada and the U.K.

The winning team would represent in India at the global finals scheduled to be held at St Petersburg in Russia. The winners will be given mentorship to hone their app at the global event.

Apple licenses $10M in patents originally created by Palm, others (Apple Insider)
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has reached an agreement to license intellectual property from a Japanese company that owns patents originally created by Palm and PalmSource, creator of the Palm OS PDA operating system. The licensing agreement for 1 billion yen, or about $10 million U.S., was announced by ACCESS Co., Ltd. and was first noted on Wednesday by Macotakara. Other patents included in the deal were created by Bell Communications Research and Geoworks.
