Steve Cohen’s SAC Capital Likes The Children’s Place Retail Stores $PLCE

Steve Cohen’s SAC Capital disclosed a 6% stake in The Children’s Place Retail Stores (PLCE) last week. Cohen had only 50K shares and $2.5 Million invested in the stock at the end of March. Now he has 1.56 Million shares and nearly $75 Million in PLCE. He paid around $53-54 per share. The stock currently trades at $49, so if you think Stevie Cohen is right about PLCE, you can buy the stock at a 10% discount to what he paid.

There are a lot of hedge funds with PLCE holdings at the end of March. Phill Gross and Robert Atchinson’s Adage had $116 Million, Ken Fisher had $79 Million, and David Keidan’s Buckingham Capital had $41 Million in the stock. Paul Tanico’s Castlerock, Dmitry Balyasny’s Balyasny Asset Management, and Glenn Russell Dubin’s Highbridge Capital had between $5 Million and $10 Million in the stock as well.
