Omega Advisors Raises its Stake in New Residential Investment Corp (NRZ)

Leon Cooperman’s Omega Advisors, reported increasing its position in New Residential Investment Corp (NYSE:NRZ) to some 15.25 million shares, from 5.72 million shares held at the end of the third quarter. The new stake amasses 6.0% of New Residential Investment Corp’s common stock.

New Residential Investment Corp focuses on investing and managing investments related to residential real estate. For the fourth quarter the company paid a dividend of $0.175 per common share and a special cash dividend of $0.075 per common share, which is equivalent to a combined dividend of $0.25.

Some of the largest shareholders of New Residential Investment Corp at the end of the third quarter were Osterweis Capital Management, led by John Osterweis, which held 9.49 million shares which, is equivalent to 2.02% of its equity portfolio. The second largest holder is James Dinan’s York Capital Management, which owned close to 9.10 million shares which. The Third-largest is Brian Taylor’s Pine River Capital Management, which disclosed approximately 8.34 million shares.

Leon Cooperman, founder of Omega Advisors, manages approximately $3.4 billion hedge fund.

Earlier this month, the fund boosted its position in in Atlas Pipeline Partners, L.P. (NYSE:APL) to 7.8 million shares, from 4.3 million shares previously owned. It also dumped 9.2 million shares of Polycom Inc (NASDAQ:PLCM). The fund now owns 3.39 million shares of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:ABR) which is equivalent to 6.9% of the common stock, one of the recent additions to the fund’s equity portfolio. Leon Cooperman also upped its position in Atlas Energy LP (NYSE:ATLS) to 4.4 million shares from 4.0 million shares held earlier. The new stake is equivalent to 8.6% of the company’s common stock.

In Novemeber, Omega Advisors, revealed a passive stake in dELiA*s, Inc. (NASDAQ:DLIA), which amassed 6.93% of the company’s common stock.
