Based in New York, Mapleline Capital LLC was founded by Leon Shaulov in 2013, following his departure as senior portfolio manager at Galleon Group. Prior to that, Shaulov was employed by Sagamore Hill Capital and Goldman Sachs and has the reputation of a tough guy, being accused of verbally abusing co-workers during his time at Galleon Group. Traders and analysts that failed to gather enough information for the fund to register a profitable investment would be mouthed off by Shaulov in front of their colleagues. Mapleline Capital’s equity portfolio is mainly invested in technology stocks, with a weight of 50%, followed by consumer discretionary (15%) and financial stocks (13.5%). Current market value of the portfolio is estimated at $1.58 billion.

Mandelblatt is, on the other hand, not so optimistic and has reduced his fund’s stake by a 25%. Soroban Capital Partners now holds 2.62 million worth in excess of $173 million.
