Netflix, Inc. (NFLX), QUALICORP SA (QUAIF) and McKesson Corporation (MCK): Hedge funds Titan’s Best Ideas

Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and QUALICORP SA (OTCMKTS:QUAIF) are officially the best performing stocks in the market in terms Hedge fund titan’s best ideas, picked by some of the finest and legendary traders in the industry over a year ago. Netflix came at the top, up by 72.49% on a year to date basis backed by activist-investor billionaire, Carl Icahn who manages Icahn Capital Lp, and followed closely by Qualicorp, which was up by 72.31%.  McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) came in third, up by 60% over the same period.

It goes without saying that Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) was the best performing video streaming service last year. Carl Icahn could have made even far much from Netflix had he listened to his son’s advice and stuck to the stock a little bit longer. The bullish billionaire opted to sell the stock recouping over $800 million, an amount that could have been even higher if he had waited.

“Netflix was the best performing obviously the well performing popular video streaming service, was investor activist Carl Icahn pick and he spent some time sharing the credit with his son brat who was a big believer in the stock,” said CNBC’s Kate Kelly.

QUALICORP SA (OTCMKTS:QUAIF) was, on the other hand, selected by legendary investor, Leon Cooperman, who at the time of investing in QUALICORP SA (OTCMKTS:QUAIF) said he believed its stock was undervalued. The legendary investor had also said that it would be good for Qualicorp to return cash to shareholders later in the year.

McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK), the largest drug distributor, makes its way into the list of the top three Hedge funds titan’s best ideas, backed by Larry Robbins, the manager of Glenview capital. Robinson according to Kate Kelly has done pretty well in the healthcare sector in the recent past.

Robinson had projected that margins would improve at McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) believing that any increment could lead to big gains something that came to pass considering the company has been up by 60% at the heels of Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) and QUALICORP SA (OTCMKTS:QUAIF).
