Northstar Realty Finance Corp. (NYSE:NRF) shares closed at $8.76. The company, on August 16, announced that NorthStar Real Estate Income Trust, Inc., its first sponsored non-traded REIT, successfully priced a $531.5 million non-recourse, floating-rate CMBS transaction at a weighted average coupon of LIBOR + 2.68%. The CMBS transaction will initially be collateralized by $425.2 million of commercial real estate loans with the flexibility to contribute up to $106.3 million of additional commercial real estate loans within six months of closing.

Redwood Trust, Inc. (NYSE:RWT) revealed its 11th private-label residential mortgage-backed securitization deal of the year — and its first this month. This deal, the smallest of the year thus far, surprisingly features more loan sellers selling into the pools than ever before, up to 77 sellers from 72 mortgage sellers in the previous deal. The platform Sequoia Mortgage Trust 2013-11 reported a total unpaid principal balance of approximately $346.3 million when assessing the planned transaction. Additionally, a total loan balance of $765 million is expected.
