This is a hybrid cat between a domestic breed and the serval, an African wild cat. It was registered as a new breed in 2001 and as a championship breed in 2012. The distinctive personality feature of the Savannah cat is that it is extremely sociable; considerably more than the average cat. Savannah cats can even be trained to play fetch or walk on a leash.
