When Chelsea Clinton married the invenstment banker Marc Mezvinsky back in 2010, she chose the owners of La Tulipe Desserts as the designers and makers of her dream wedding cake. Maarten and Frances Steenman created an $11,000 vanilla sponge cake that was four feet tall, gluten-free and covered with over 1,000 sugar flowers including lilies, orchids and roses.

9. Kim Kardashian’s wedding cake    

Although Kim Kardashian’s marriage with Kris Humphries was very short and disappointing, no one will ever forget that glamorous wedding ceremony and party, including the $20,000 wedding cake. Designed by Patrick Hansen, the amazing cake, which weighed almost 600 pounds, was a chocolate-chip marble cake with a frosting of butter cream. The black and white wedding cake was 8 feet tall!

A renowned New York cake designer was the mastermind behind the $32,000 wedding cake that appeared in Sex and the City 2. Ron Ben-Israel decorated his White Cloud cake with 4,000 genuine Swarovski crystals provided by the company for that particular purpose. The sparkling and delicious creation was over 6 feet tall and served almost 500 guests.

12 tiers, purple sugar roses, silver stripes and red details were some features of the black and white wedding cake that was specially crafted for the union between Liza Minelli and David Gest. The over-the-top cake cost around $40,000.

Back in 1981, when the beloved Lady Diana married Prince Charles, David Avery designed a wedding cake fit for such a couple. In 2006, Nahid Parsa, the cake designer of La Patisserie Artistique, created a very expensive and lavish cake for the Luxury Bridal Show in Beverly Hills. Valued at $20 million, the cake was guarded by several armed men and none of the attendees were able to have a taste. What made this cake so costly were the large diamonds it was decorated with.
