Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Build 2013 Conference: Updates That May Surprise You

The Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Build 2013 Conference in San Francisco, California is off to a hot start. The company has had a lot to say thus far, and there is plenty more coming. There has been a lot going on with the company as of late, and thanks to this conference it has the chance to push even more information to the public.

During day two, there were quite a few stories that may surprise outsiders. Along with this, there were plenty of updates that can go a long way in helping Microsoft as it pushes forward in a variety of markets.

Mobile Services enables developers building Windows, Windows Phone, iOS and Android apps to store data in the cloud, authenticate users and send push notifications. TalkTalk Business, a leading business telecommunications provider in the United Kingdom, chose Windows Azure Mobile Services to create new ways to engage with its customers and serve demand for mobile access.”

Along with this, many people were excited to hear about the changes to the Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 8 platform. Most importantly, the company announced the addition of many “major apps” including but not limited to ABC News, Walgreens, and Voxer.

Let’s face the facts: If Microsoft has any ideas of competing directly with the top players in the smartphone space, it will need to take its game to the next level. The addition of these apps is not enough, but it is definitely a step in the right direction. If nothing else, it shows that the company is wiling to do whatever it takes to at least become part of the smartphone conversation in the future.
