However, retiring CEO Paul Otellini said “The company’s core architectural and manufacturing strength have never been more valuable.”
Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is the next on the list with deals worth $34.3 million. The stock has advanced by 3.75% to $3.19. On Wednesday Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is revealing a new Nokia phone handset, according to a post on one of its blogs. There are some debates going on, discussing whether the new product will be a qwerty-based Lumia or more of a feature phone like the Asha line, but with a Lumia color scheme.
Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) edged down by 0.56% to $7.13 in deals worth $24.5 million. Today, the company announced in a press release that the Board of Directors of Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has created a Special Committee of independent directors who will revise and evalute the acquisition proposal from DISH Network Corp. (NASDAQ:DISH). The members of the Committee are: Larry C. Glasscock, James H. Hance, Jr., V. Janet Hill, William R. Nuti, and Rodney O’Neal. DISH Network Corp. (NASDAQ:DISH) has offered to purchase Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) under a deal worth over $25 billion.
Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) inched up by 0.20% to $20.50 in turnover worth $22.6 million. Equities researches at Sterne Agee have reaffirmed the “buy” rating of Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), Daily Political said quoting AnalystRatings.Net. The current target price on Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO) is set by Sterne Agee at $26.00.
With a turnover of almost $18.4 million, Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) is closing our list. The share price of Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) fell by 1.16% to $17.96. The gold market is suffering some declines this year, which is reflected in Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX)’s stock. Even though, aside gold, Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE:ABX) is also involved in copper mining, almost 87% of its 2012 revenues came from gold, which can be a reason to worry, taking into account the overall state of the gold market.
