Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) is all set to display its future technologies in a two day I/O conference starting on Thursday. Consumers and especially investors are eager to know what Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) would unveil in the conference. Jeremy Rosenberg, Head of Digital at Allison and Partners talked on CNBC about what he is expecting from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s conference and what might interest investors, consumers and software developers.
The most important question is what should be the focus area for investors, consumers and software developers from Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s I/O conference. Rosenberg said that he loves these kinds of conferences and he feels that they are exciting. He thinks that there are a lot of new technologies coming out of these kinds of conferences. He pointed at various technologies and products that Google might talk about in the conference.
“I think there is going to be new OS’s coming out. I have heard a lot of about Chrome update, we have heard a lot about Android updates. We have heard a lot about Android wear and internet of things, which is still very much of a x-factor. Everybody is jumping on this thing. They have got Nest in their pocket. They have got the cars going. There is definitely a lot of connected devices happening and it is really going to be exciting what they are going to do with all of that,” Rosenberg said.
Google has taken some giant steps into Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Virtual Reality (VR). So can we expect something about this from Google in the conference? Rosenberg said that we can expect all kinds of Virtual Reality stuffs from Google in the conference. He thinks that the VR is always a crowd puller since it has that ‘WoW’ factor to it. He pointed at Google’s Glass which has already ventured into this space. He feels that timeline for Google to get its Glass in the hands of consumers might decide the success of it.
Rosenberg thinks that there are going to be a lot of levers for Google to play with in the Artificial Intelligence area. He pointed out that self driving cars, meaningful inter connectivity between devices, etc might be the future and Google plays a big part in these areas. Google has made a lot of announcement about, self-driving cars, Google Wallet and internet of things in the last few months. But what is the next big thing for Google?
Rosenberg feels that Google’s ability to deliver on the internet of things is going to be the next big thing for the company. He feels that Google is in a great position to own a big part of that market in the future. He feels that this technology might surpass VR, AI and even Self-driving cars as the next big thing for Google.
