Sossuvlei is translated as a place where water is gathering. However, you won’t find any water there. The dunes are very high and even though it can be hard climbing them, the view that opens from the top is magnificent and worth the effort.

Abu Simbel represents two ancient temples dedicated to the Pharaoh Ramesses II and are some of the most magnificent monuments in the history of humanity. However, there is also an interesting modern fact that makes Abu Simbel even more attractive. The temples have been relocated from their original site, near the River Nile, in the 1960s, when the construction of dam put them in danger of being sunk.
