Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), a tech giant and the leader in the race for internet traffic, which is now also well known for its Android mobile operating system, has now started helping people save lives. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), always staying ahead of the competition in the market, along with ambulance companies, have found a way to bring the doctors with them as they transport patients to the hospitals. At CNBC, Charlie Wojciechowski reported on how Google Glass is helping paramedics save lives.
“Everything that paramedic sees in the back of this emergency room on wheels, a doctor can see on a tablet like this one,” Wojciechowski said.
In the past, the paramedics used their cell phones to call the doctors to tell them about the patient’s condition and what was happening with them, but now they can send the doctors a real time streaming video for their better understanding and to advise the paramedics on the spot accordingly. The doctors would be seeing the patient through their tablets with the help of paramedics who will be wearing the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Glass headset.
“To make it all work the ambulance has to become a high-powered mobile hotspot with the computers and cellular equipment tucked behind the front seat,” Wojciechowski said.
Not every ambulance can save lives like a Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Glass-enabled one can. An ambulance has to be high-powered and fully-equipped with computers and the required cellular equipment to be able to effectively operate. Doctors on the tablet can also zoom into the patients for better definition of the picture and their understanding of the problem and the patient’s condition.
In the ambulance business, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Glass can save time, it can help in diagnosing faster and of course, it can save precious lives of people, which is the top-most concern in the ambulance and healthcare business.
Right now, the system is just set up to transmit the video but Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) can also improve a lot and add more features, like sensors and other inputs, as it gets feedback from the paramedics and doctors. Every ambulance business should consider this facility as soon as possible in order to diagnose the patients faster on their way to the hospital and to improve their business in the market.
