Google Inc (GOOG): More Than a Fine At Stake in EU Antitrust Probe?

There is some talk that one of the options the European Commission has besides imposing fines is to order companies to change their operations in the region. By this could mean that the commission could impose some sort of ban on Google’s business practices, including those pertaining to search. What that ban would look like remains to be seen, but it likely won’t be a total ban on the search engine in the EU but perhaps a modified search result or eliminating some advertising opportunities on search-result pages. What is your take on this? Would a ban, partial or otherwise, be an effective sanction against Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and its anti-competitive practices?
