3. Jimi Hendrix

One of the saddest days of 1970, was September 8th, when Jimi Hendrix was found dead in his girlfriend Monika Dannemann’s apartment in Notting Hill. The world’s greatest guitar player was merely 27-years-old at the time of his passing, which most believe was accidental. After several disputes with Dannemann that evening, Hendrix had taken amphetamines and couldn’t sleep, so he turned to the barbiturate Vesparax to calm him down. Unfortunately he took nine tablets, causing him to overdose and asphyxiate on his own vomit.
