The lead singer of Nirvana and grandfather of grunge rock, Kurt Cobain committed suicide on April 8th of 1994, leaving his fans and family members devastated. However, since his death there have been many theories regarding the authenticity of the official report, with some speculating murder as the actual cause of death. The facts, nonetheless, remain that Cobain suffered from bipolar disorder, depression, and severe stomach pains, which lead him to abuse heroin and eventually to take his own life. After injecting himself with heroin in both arms, he wrote a suicide note and shot himself in the head with a Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun.
