GM Has a Limited Edition of This Premier Corvette Stingray (WallStCheatSheet)
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is not satisfied with the level of hype surrounding the release of its 2014 Corvette Stingray. So to add some prestige to the launch, Chevy is releasing five hundred models of a Premier Edition of the car. The special edition was introduced Friday by the automaker, in advance of a party to celebrate the car’s launch later this year. A Power Wheels version is also in the works. The five hundred Premiere 3LT models will be produced in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Each will come with a “Laguna Blue” paint job and be accompanied by a set of Corvette luggage, designed by Thule.

Along with the creation of a similar role to reposition Cadillac as a global brand and management changes to the top levels of product development, manufacturing and information technology, GM looks quite different than when he took over.
GM plans to cut energy use by 25% (TheGreenCarWebsite)
Car giant, General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) has committed to reduce energy usage by at least 25 per cent by 2018, at 25 of its US facilities. As part of a US Department of Energy (DOE) project, the carmaker will work to realise a potential $7 million in energy savings, aiming to cut energy use by a minimum of a quarter in the next five years. All together, two hundred and eighteen energy-savings opportunities have been identified, including cost savings totalling more than $200,000 per year, from the Fairfax, Kansas assembly plant alone. Worldwide, General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) aims to reduce energy intensity from its facilities 20 per cent by 2020.
GM closing Grand Blanc Weld Tool Center (FreeP)
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) is closing a Flint-area plant. The Flint Journal and WEYI-TV report the closing of the Grand Blanc Weld Tool Center is Monday. The plant is in Genesee County’s Grand Blanc Township. Detroit-based General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) announced the closing earlier this year and said workers were offered jobs at other plants. The center opened in 1942. The plant had about 350 hourly and salaried workers, and about 100 chose retirement over relocation.
General Motors India June sales fall 11% (TheHinduBusinessLine)
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) India on Monday reported 10.71 per cent decline in sales at 6,575 units in June 2013. The company had sold 7,364 units in the same month of 2012, GM India said in a statement. Last month’s sales include 2,081 units of Beat, 1,507 units of Sail, 2,578 units of Enjoy, it added. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) India Vice—President P Balendran said: “Although we have generated volumes for Chevrolet Enjoy and Beat as expected, the overall numbers inclusive of other models were not on the expected lines as we had temporarily stopped production of Tavera BS—III and Diesel versions of Sail HB & NB in the month of June.
