But there is good news for all technology majors out there, as there are ton of companies who are actually willing to pay for your efforts as an intern.

Following, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the top 15 best paid tech internships, according to the statistics issued by Glassdoor.com, an online community dedicated to everything job and career-related. The following internships are ranked according to their average monthly pay, which Glassdoor obtained by looking through thousands of salary reports shared by its members over the last 3 years. In order to qualify for the list, companies had to receive a minimum of 20 reports.

While a vast majority of industries continue to opt only for free internships, there is a reason why the tech sector is so eager to pay its interns, at least according to the experts at Glassdoor.com. With so much competition in this field, companies are battling each other in order to scoop up the most talented people. And what better way to prospect for future employees than by offering them a paid internship?

However, according to reviews posted on Glassdoor.com, landing one of these paid internships is not the easiest of tasks. In some cases, it may take multiple interviews, various tasks, and even personality tests. But we’re assuming that starting your career with one of the tech moguls on our countdown is more than worth it. In addition, Glassdoor members offer another insider tip: if you’re looking to score an internship with a top tech company, it wouldn’t hurt to use your connections to help your CV receive some attention from the Human Resources department.

This year’s best paying company for interns is VMware, Inc. (NYSE:VMW), which offers an average monthly pay of $6,536. Not far behind it we have the social media giant Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), with a little over $6,000. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) wraps up our top three with $5,936.
