What are the top 15 best selling apps for Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod touch? Since Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) released its first smartphone, the iPhone in 2007, it has gained a huge following, and even that’s speaking lightly. In this way, when Apple announced its next device, the iPad, its revenue forecasts were upped even more by many analysts. However, both the iPhone as well as the iPad wouldn’t be so popular among consumers if it wasn’t for their bevy of applications, of which, new ones are released almost every day.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced in January that its App Store had reached an impressive number of 40 billion downloads. Apple’s developer community has created over 775,000 apps available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and developers earned over $7.0 billion, paid by Apple.
Currently there more than half a million active accounts in Apple’s App Store. Users of the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch accessed the App Store to download something over two billion times in December 2012 alone, which only confirms the increasing popularity of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s devices.
However, the app store, despite being a wonderful thing allowing Apple’s users to access tons of cool applications and games, has some bugs, one of which, was the vulnerability for those who were accessing the store via Wi-Fi networks. The bug was discovered and was fixed six months after that, but it definitely hurt for a bit.
Last year, after Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s App Store reached the 25 billion download-milestone in March, the company from released the list of its top 25 paid and free applications of all time. The highlights among top paid applications include several very popular games such as “Angry Birds”, “Fruit Ninja”, and “Doodle Jump”. Among top free apps, first place was taken by the “Facebook” app, followed by “Pandora Radio,” and the “Words with friends” game.
Since then, the ranking has changed. In order to see which apps are currently considered the most popular on Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s App Store, we have compiled a list of 15 most popular paid applications. As usual, positions near the top are filled with games and other apps designed for entertainment.
