Dr. Brigette Roberts’ Hedge Fund Up 6% YTD

Meet Dr. Brigette Roberts. In a market where many hedge fund mangers are down double digits, Roberts’ fund is up 6% YTD according to BusinessInsider.

Brigette Roberts, the Doctor

Brigette Roberts should know a lot about her industry. She is after all a doctor. Roberts completed her medical degree at 23, after getting her undergrad in physics and chemistry from Harvard, graduating NYU Medical School and completing a year of general residency. Even now, the highly accomplished Roberts is still under 40 and attracting lots of attention. For instance, she made it on Forbe’s “40 Under 40: One’s To Watch” list along the way.

Brigette Roberts, the Hedge Fund Manager

The medical degree prepared her for her early career as an associate healthcare analyst at Thomas Weisel Partners and Sturza’s Medical Research. After that, she moved on to manage a $100 million portfolio for DKR Saturn. She was at that post for two years before becoming an analyst Stifel Nicolaus. In 2005, she joined Dan Loeb‘s Third Point. After cutting her teeth for three years there, Roberts launched her own fund, YYC Capital Management, in 2009.
