Most likely Apple will still have to fork out large sums of cash when it comes time to negotiate, but an Apple-branded TV could be a longer wait than investors had hoped for. First, Apple will probably need to come up with an irresistible offering for cash-flush providers like Comcast.

iTV in 2013?
Industry disruption may indeed surface, but Comcast will likely have a persuasive say in the matter. So don’t bet the farm on an Apple television in 2013. But investors might want to consider giving Comcast a closer look as a potential benefactor of the rapidly changing content environment. In fact, I’ll back up my opinion with an outperform CAPScall on the company.
