Qualcomm: Service providers demanding 802.11ac in new Wi-Fi gateways (FierceBroadbandWireless)
The 802.11ac Wi-Fi standard is gaining momentum as service providers demand inclusion of the technology in the network products they buy and compatible client devices roll out to the mass market, according to a QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) executive. “We already see great growth in service providers looking at RFQ’s (requests for quotation) for next-generation gateways. I can say across the board they’re all including 802.11ac,” said Todd Antes, vice president of product management at QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) Atheros, in an interview with FierceBroadbandWireless. …Selected for inclusion in the alliance’s 802.11ac test bed were two QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) products: the Vive 3-stream dual-band, dual-concurrent router and Vive 3-stream, PCIe client. The vendor says its Vive network platforms, available in both 2- and 3-stream options, deliver data rates up to 866 Mbps and 1.3 Gbps, respectively.
Intel Corp.’s “Buy” Rating Reaffirmed at TheStreet (INTC) (WatchlistNews)
TheStreet restated their buy rating on shares of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) in a report issued on Tuesday, AnalystRatingsNetwork reports. “Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has been reiterated by TheStreet Ratings as a buy with a ratings score of A-. The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, reasonable valuation levels, expanding profit margins and notable return on equity. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company has had somewhat weak growth in earnings per share.,” the firm’s analyst commented. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) has been the subject of a number of other recent research reports. Analysts at Wells Fargo & Co (NYSE:WFC) reiterated an outperform rating on shares of Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC) in a research note to investors on Monday.
Broadcom Corp. (BRCM) Declares Quarterly Dividend of $0.11 (WatchlistNews)
Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ:BRCM) declared a quarterly dividend on Thursday, August 15th, StockRatingsNetwork.com reports. Shareholders of record on Friday, August 30th will be given a dividend of $0.11 per share on Monday, September 16th. This represents a $0.44 dividend on an annualized basis and a yield of 1.66%. A number of research firms have recently commented on Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ:BRCM). Analysts at Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) cut their price target on shares of Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ:BRCM) from $36.00 to $34.00 in a research note to investors on Tuesday.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 To Come In Exynos And Qualcomm Variants [Rumor] (Ubergizmo)
Earlier this year Samsung announced their new line of Exynos chipsets, the Exynos 5-series Octa-core chipsets that made its debut in devices like the Samsung Galaxy S4. In terms of marketing, hearing the word “octa” to describe the number of cores your phone has definitely sounds good, but at the same time the QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) Snapdragon 600 chipset isn’t a slouch either, but unfortunately some regions got the octa-core, while other regions got the quad-core. Some were speculating that with the upcoming Galaxy Note 3, perhaps Samsung has figured out a way to get their new Exynos 5420 to play nice with regions all around the world, but it doesn’t look like that will be the case.
