Eating a little chocolate regularly may lower the odds for a common and potentially dangerous heart condition called atrial fibrillation, or AFib, say Harvard researchers. Past studies have linked eating cocoa products, such as dark chocolate, with cardiovascular benefits, but there hasn’t been a lot of research on chocolate and atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat condition linked with a higher risk for stroke and heart failure, said study author Elizabeth Mostofsky, an epidemiology instructor at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Some people with AFib describe the irregular heartbeat as feeling like a fluttering sensation.”

“Drinking some alcohol can be very cool when we are at a party but consuming too much of it means serious problems, that’s why we’ve decided to find the countries with the most alcohol-related deaths in the world. First, we need to make clear how much alcohol is harmful. Some doctors and addictologists usually consider too much or dangerous if someone drinks every day – even if it is just one glass of wine. Others say that we can drink 1-1.5 dl of wine daily, alcohol problems may arise when this habit becomes a necessary one – if we are not able to skip it out even for one day.”

“Light cigarettes falsely ease smokers’ fear of lung cancer, say researchers from the Ohio State University. Evidence suggests that ventilation holes in the filters of these cigarettes contribute to increased lung adenocarcinoma rates and risks, according to a study published Monday in Journal of the National Cancer Institute. Adenocarcinoma is a type of lung cancer that arises in the periphery or farther reaches of the lung and is difficult to treat, the researchers say. Based on the study results, the authors recommend that the US Food and Drug Administration investigate whether the use of filter ventilation in cigarettes should be prohibited.”

“Pinterest is adding another ad to its array of products, now allowing advertisers to publish video advertising that will automatically play in the home feed and search, as it continues to bulk up and woo advertisers with a different pitch from Facebook and Google. “Doing the job you love is a great and satisfying thing, so you might try some of the most profitable manufacturing businesses to start. For the very beginning, you will probably be interested in small-scale businesses that will not involve many people and huge space. Perhaps the easiest and the most satisfying businesses would be those crafts that you are familiar with. For example that could be knitting, sewing, and making plenty of other handmade products. Slowly, with unique ideas and style, the local community will get to know and buy your products, and then you can advertise your business, place your offers at fairs and street markets, and maybe end up in launching your own brand.”

“Screens are no longer optional. If you’re not driving, exercising or sleeping, you’re probably staring at one. And after 10 to 14 hours of screen time in a single day, your eyes can feel like you just rinsed them with sand. Fortunately, there don’t seem to be any long-term vision or eye-health issues related to the dry, achy, itchy sensations you feel after your marathon screen sessions, says Dr. Joshua Dunaief, a professor of ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine.”
